NYC art map and recs, 6/30/25 - 7/6/25
Hi folks! It is the week so far this year with the fewest number of exhibitions opening — just 17! I hope everyone has a great holiday and weekend, I know I am looking forward to a brief break from art (jk, I will be catching up on museum shows other than on the 4th). Most galleries are closed this weekend, and many other shift to Monday-Friday summer hours after the holiday, so definitely check before heading out.
If you find my work useful and you’d like to support it, consider becoming a paid subscriber — sliding scale subscription links are available here:
$5/month (or $50/year)
$4/month (or $40/year)
$3/month (or $30/year)
$2/month (or $20/year)
I’m trying a new format with the openings list and including everything (like I did for the Spring newsletters) with my picks for the week bolded. Let me know if you like this more or if it’s more annoying to sort through!
Geography Brief
- James Cohan seems to have closed its 291 Grand Street space, as evidenced by the for rent sign on the building that I saw and that the address has been removed from its website
Openings — All exhibition openings are 6pm - 8pm unless otherwise noted — but I do recommend double checking the galleries’ websites / Instagrams before going anywhere!
