NYC art map and recs, 8/25/25 - 9/1/25
Hi folks! I hope we are all enjoying these last gasps of summer where there is nothing to do, because it sure is over next week! There are still a few openings and events this week, particularly in South Brooklyn. I often like to catch up on museum shows that I neglect over holiday weekends, though realistically I’ll be preparing content for next week’s supersized newsletter! (Big Fall preview newsletter coming tonight / tomorrow, though?)
I also just wanted to take an opportunity say thanks to everyone’s who has subscribed to this over the last year — I sort of had no idea where it might go when I started it, but it’s led to some pretty exciting things for me so far, and it truly means a lot when I encounter people who tell me that they subscribe. To that end, I’d like to ask for feedback and ideas on how to improve it — I’ve been thinking about adding the following week’s openings and events to the weekly newsletter so people can get a jump on planning, though I’ve also that people mostly plan the week of. Let me know what might be useful to you — I’m very open to other ideas, formatting tweaks, etc. as well!
If you find my work useful and you’d like to support it, consider becoming a paid subscriber — sliding scale subscription links are available here:
$5/month (or $50/year)
$4/month (or $40/year)
$3/month (or $30/year)
$2/month (or $20/year)
Openings — All exhibition openings are 6pm - 8pm unless otherwise noted — but I do recommend double checking the galleries’ websites / Instagrams before going anywhere!
