Hi folks! I hope we all had a good weekend enjoying the beautiful weather. I did a very multi-neighborhood crawl on Saturday, hitting a bunch of galleries along and adjacent to Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side, followed by some leftovers in the Lower East Side and Tribeca. I’ve said it before but will say it again — the UES is so underrated as a gallery neighborhood, with such an interesting range of work that often feels productively disjunctive with the spaces it’s in. And the gallery employees are especially nice? In no way do I want to perpetuate the myth of the art world’s inaccessibility — more to come on that soon — but I’ve found that the folks who work in galleries in the UES are especially friendly and willing to engage, if you want to.
you're the new Art Cards?!
